Daybreak confirmed Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will not launch on Xbox PC or support Xbox Play Anywhere, with the PC version coming only to Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The publisher said it "currently only support[s] Steam and EGS stores for PC," signaling that Xbox's PC storefront was not worth backing for this release.
The decision undercuts a platform that hosted the first Aliens: Fireteam Elite after launch through a Game Pass deal, when it added cross-play and cross-buy with Xbox Series X|S.
The snub adds pressure on Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who has told staff the company's PC presence is weak and is reportedly preparing a major Xbox PC update later in 2026.
The report argues Xbox PC still struggles to attract developers organically despite an 88% revenue share, reinforcing concerns that many publishers now view it mainly as a Game Pass channel.
