Anthony Nunez mouthed “It’s a boy” to the camera after a scoreless relief inning Sunday, turning his appearance in Baltimore’s 2-1 win over the Athletics into a family gender reveal.
Nunez said the message was for his brother Danny Delgado and sister-in-law Makayla, who had just announced they were expecting their third child during a Mother’s Day gathering.
MASN broadcaster Kevin Brown said the couple did not know the baby’s sex beforehand, making Nunez the one who delivered the reveal from the field at Camden Yards.
Baltimore improved to 18-23 behind six innings of one-run ball from Chris Bassitt, while Rico Garcia earned his third save and the Athletics fell to 21-19.
