Among peers, Pennar Industries slipped 1.09%, Sarda Energy & Minerals lost 1.90%, and Steel Authority of India fell 2.25%, leaving Tata Steel mixed but relatively resilient.
Trading volume was 621,436 shares, well below the 50-day average of 2.0 million, pointing to lighter activity during the decline.
