In an X thread, it cited Google's Play Integrity, reCAPTCHA and Apple's App Attest as tools that can deny access to apps and websites on uncertified devices.
The project said banking apps already use such checks to block rooted or modified Android phones, and argued GrapheneOS itself is excluded despite claiming stronger security.
It warned wider adoption by governments and banks for payments, digital ID and age checks could entrench Apple and Google control across mobile and parts of the web; neither company has responded publicly.
