In an Instagram post on 6 May, the UK-based surgeon said grinding chia seeds, mixing them 50/50 with basil seeds, and eating them with yoghurt may improve nutrition and gut health.
He said grinding can raise plasma ALA, chia’s main omega-3, by 58%, while basil seeds add more soluble fibre and berries may help feed beneficial gut bacteria.
