Director Kash Patel said the bureau found 6,300 missing children, up 30%, arrested 2,000 abusers, up 20%, and cut $300m while identifying $1.2bn in contract ceiling savings.
He said AI now supports threat-call transcription, fingerprint alteration detection, translations and data triage, including work that helped stop a planned mass shooting at a North Carolina preschool.
Patel said the FBI created an AI working group, review board and chief AI officer after inheriting outdated systems, and is also developing deepfake detection with private-sector partners.
