Flight 579 from Cabo San Lucas to Houston diverted to Monterrey on Sunday after a mechanical issue affected an Airbus A320, with 143 passengers and five crew aboard.
The airline said an emergency was declared before the landing, and everyone deplaned normally in Monterrey without reported injuries.
United said it arranged another aircraft to take customers to Houston, as the diversion disrupted the international flight's planned arrival.
