Kate Martin joins Los Angeles Sparks on player-development deal

The 25-year-old guard moved three days after Golden State waived her, with the new WNBA contract letting her practise and travel and appear in up to 12 games.
The deal pays a $750 weekly stipend plus a prorated $6,000 minimum salary, and Sparks general manager Raegan Pebley praised Martin's shooting, defence and energy.
Martin, drafted by Las Vegas in 2024 and taken by Golden State in the expansion draft, played 42 games for the Valkyries in 2025, averaging 6.2 points off the bench.
