After Friday's official weigh-ins in New Jersey, White said the state commission, not UFC, oversaw Chimaev's 185-pound measurement on the mechanical beam scale.
The dispute followed online scrutiny of the beam not settling before the call and Sean Strickland's claim Chimaev was heavy backstage; White said New Jersey and New York commissions are among the toughest.
White declined to explain why a digital scale was not used. Chimaev later lost the middleweight title to Strickland by split decision after a draining weight cut.
