Israel deports two Gaza flotilla activists after investigation

Saif Abu Keshek, a Spanish national of Palestinian origin, and Brazilian Thiago Avila were flown out on Sunday after being seized near Crete on 30 April.
Israel said Abu Keshek was suspected of ties to a “terrorist” group and Avila of illegal activity; both denied wrongdoing and said they were on a humanitarian mission.
An Israeli court had rejected their appeal on Wednesday, while Spain, Brazil and the UN urged release. The Global Sumud Flotilla sought to challenge Israel’s long-running Gaza blockade.
