Strickland won Saturday’s middleweight title fight by split decision, 48-47 on two scorecards, becoming a two-time UFC champion at 185 pounds.
Chimaev posted “See you again soon” on Twitter after the bout, though Dana White later said he plans to move up to light heavyweight following a difficult weight cut.
