Rescued poodle-cross Winston thrives in new Leicester home

The 10-month-old was among more than 250 dogs found in January in a cramped room, with 87 taken by the RSPCA and over 115 by Dogs Trust.
RSPCA Woodside said Winston and 11 others arrived severely matted, covered in faeces and fearful of people, but his adopters Lisa and Mark Bream say he now enjoys walks and the garden.
The charity said most rescued dogs have now been rehomed, with two still available, and it will not prosecute the owners because of their extremely vulnerable circumstances.
