The singer filed the $15m case in California's Central District on 8 May, alleging Samsung used a photo from Austin City Limits Festival packaging from last year.
The complaint says she demanded the company stop, but Samsung was dismissive and continued using an image she says she owns and never approved for endorsement.
The suit alleges copyright, publicity-rights, Lanham Act and trademark violations, and cites social media posts suggesting her image helped drive some television purchases.
