The software update is being introduced gradually to millions of Roku devices and smart TVs worldwide, with the wobble appearing intermittently when users open or power on the interface.
Roku says the change is meant to drive launches and viewing time for its free, ad-supported service, whose films, TV, live news and originals help generate advertising revenue.
The move follows a similar animation added in February for Roku-owned Howdy, while some users welcome easier discovery of free content and others criticise the feature as intrusive.
