Apple releases iOS 26.5 RC2 with bug fixes and performance improvements

The final release candidate fixes Pride wallpaper, iPad cellular, Safari extension and non-English keyboard issues, while adding Apple Games splash-screen changes, live activities and EU-compliant notification forwarding.
Apple also says CarPlay, app transitions and typing responsiveness are smoother, and RCS end-to-end encryption has been strengthened, though charging problems, some RCS inconsistencies and slightly lower benchmark scores remain.
A public iOS 26.5 rollout is expected early next week, followed by iOS 26.6 beta 1, while Apple is expected to preview iOS 27 beta 1 at WWDC 2026 in June.
