Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison filed the Hennepin County lawsuit, alleging more than $6.5m was diverted, with Pollard personally benefiting by over $6m.
The complaint says charitable money paid for luxury cars, Las Vegas trips, child support, taxes and Pollard's liquor store and car dealership, while records, board oversight and safeguards collapsed.
Investigators say the pair hid transactions, misled authorities and shifted contracts and cheques into a for-profit entity, Change Makers, leaving the Minneapolis nonprofit unable to support Operation Metro Surge.
