On Howie Mandel's podcast, the 70-year-old said allergies and rare AB-negative blood, affecting under 1% of people, mean he avoids wheat, dairy, shellfish, pork and beef.
Thornton said he only realised later that not everyone felt ill after eating, and described an unusual snack discovery: grapes dipped in Dijon mustard at a Landman event.
The actor, now starring in Paramount+ series Landman, also said earlier this year he no longer undergoes drastic weight changes for roles after once gaining 60lb and later dropping to 128lb.
