Emails and PlayStation notifications tell users to buy a PS5 before Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on 19 November 2026, though some PS5 owners also reportedly received them.
The push is notable because Sony is a marketing partner for Rockstar and Take-Two, and GTA 6 recently appeared in Sony earnings materials as the only third-party game shown.
