NC State University celebrates over 7,400 graduates at commencement

The ceremony began at 9 a.m. Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, with Duke Energy chief executive and alumnus Harry Sideris delivering the commencement address.
Chancellor Kevin Howell opened the event, while student speaker Tonya Henderson Gatling reflected on returning to college 32 years after leaving and urged graduates to keep learning.
The programme also included university awards, with Dr Katie Sheats receiving the 2026 UNC Board of Governors Teaching Excellence Award, and deans recognising graduates from colleges across the university.
