Aman Goel recalls leaving US internship to build startups in India

The IIT Bombay alumnus said a 2016 Rubrik internship in Palo Alto paid $8,000 a month and helped him decide to return to India.
Goel wrote on X that the experience gave him clarity, prompting him to spend his final college year learning entrepreneurship, sales and marketing beyond engineering.
He said that path later led to co-founding Cogno AI, which was acquired, and now GreyLabs AI; the post drew more than 112,000 views and supportive reactions online.
