The survey found four in five investors expect taxes to rise, yet just 31% are adjusting financial plans, while 17% cited uncertainty over strategies and 14% worried about withdrawal tax implications.
Nationwide Annuity president Kush Kotecha said many focus on taxes only during tax season; 34% do so, while 26% manage taxes proactively year-round.
The study said advisers could help through tax diversification, Roth conversions and preparing for required minimum distributions, which can raise brackets, Medicare surcharges and Social Security benefit taxation.
