Police said the child was struck around 3:40 p.m. near Bennett Street and Ashton Drive in Greenwich Township and later died at Cooper University Hospital.
Chief Louis P. Damminger Jr. said residents and officers gave emergency care before the boy was taken to hospital, while Greenwich Township police investigate the crash.
The boy's name and age were not released in the latest report. The school district plans counsellors for Monday, and Clonmell United Methodist Church opened to support the community.
