Michael Fogleman, 29, and James Smallwood, 52, walked away from Rowan County Detention Center in Morehead on Friday evening, with Kentucky State Police leading the search.
Morehead Police said the pair should be considered dangerous and urged residents not to approach suspicious or unfamiliar people, instead calling 911 with any information.
Authorities released descriptions of both men, including height, build and clothing, and said multiple law enforcement agencies are involved as the investigation continues.
