Two Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies, Jonathan Santana and Jason Smith, filed the suit in Coral Gables in early May over the January release.
They say the film, inspired by a 2016 Miami Lakes raid that seized more than $20m, falsely depicts officers as dirty and has damaged their reputations.
The suit also argues the deputies should have been paid as consultants, while Hialeah officials previously criticised the film for misrepresenting the city and law enforcement.
