After a Miami meeting with team principals and Formula One Management, they backed a roughly 50kW ICE increase, fuel-flow rise and 50kW cut in ERS deployment.
The move would shift the planned power balance from about 50-50 toward 60-40, aiming to reduce battery-management demands and improve racing and qualifying.
The changes follow driver criticism, including from Max Verstappen, and safety concerns after Haas driver Ollie Bearman's crash in Japan under the 2026 engine concept.
