The stock closed at $133.48 on Friday, with trading volume surging to 4.3 million shares, well above its 50-day average of 2.0 million.
The gain came during a broadly positive session in which the S&P 500 rose 0.84% to 7,398.93 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.02% to 49,609.16.
Despite the advance, Tapestry remains 17.59% below its 52-week high of $161.97, reached on 26 February.
