St. Edward School teams place first and third in Ohio Stock Market Challenge

In Ashland, Kensley Hoffman and Owen Schneeg won the middle-school division with a 9.89% gain, while Cora Donatinni and Michael Bittner finished third among 105 teams.
The 10-week spring 2026 contest, run by Ashland University, gave teams $100,000 to invest, with another $100,000 available to borrow; the winners earned $150 and third place $50.
Teacher Kevin Valentine said St. Edward has joined the challenge for two decades, with students researching stocks daily and learning both investing basics and the risks of market losses.
