The shares closed at $17.99 on Friday, extending gains to a fourth straight session as the S&P 500 rose 0.84% and the Dow added 0.02%.
Baxter beat peers including Medtronic, Stryker and Becton Dickinson, whose shares all fell between 2.32% and 2.98% during the session.
Despite the rally, Baxter remains 44.95% below its 52-week high of $32.68 reached on May 12, while trading volume of 7.9 million stayed below its 50-day average.
