Carlisle Magistrates' Court gave the 34-year-old an immediate 34-week term after he failed to tell police his Vinted username and messaged dozens of women in May.
Prosecutors said Carter viewed many female profiles, searched for bikinis and mini-shorts, and sent compliments and questions about boyfriends through the online marketplace.
The indefinite order, imposed in 2020, restricts his contact with under-18s and device use; the sentence runs concurrently with a prison recall, with release previously due in February 2027.
