Authorities said the 17-year-old and 19-year-old were arrested after a May 3 interception at Washington State Prison in Davisboro, Georgia, seizing 2.95 pounds of marijuana, phones and razor blades.
Investigators linked the suspects to suspicious vehicle activity and a nearby field where blades were found; both face charges including using a drone during a crime, drug distribution and trading with inmates.
The prison has seen rising drone smuggling since 2024 despite a 2019 Georgia law banning such deliveries, with Sheriff Joel Cochran previously saying 17 people had been arrested in attempted drops since early 2025.
