The confidential deal, announced at Belfast High Court on Friday, ends actions brought over the 1983 SAS shooting of Brian Campbell, 19, and Colm McGirr, 23, near Coalisland, County Tyrone.
Relatives alleged a shoot-to-kill policy and inadequate investigation, while their solicitor said forensic findings indicated both men were shot from behind, with McGirr kneeling and Campbell possibly on the ground.
The cases were launched in 2016 after a 2013 Historical Enquiries Team report; the families said they had fought for justice for 43 years and will donate to charity.
