Sotheby's New York is exhibiting 20 works until 14 May, with sales on 14 and 15 May including a painted crib and a 1985 self-portrait.
Estimates range from $250,000-$350,000 for the crib to $3m-$5m for the self-portrait, while several pieces have never been shown publicly.
Oswald, Haring's childhood friend and studio collaborator, said he is selling because art should be seen, 35 years after Haring died of Aids-related complications.
