Malaysian KLCI index drops 0.6%, ending five-day winning streak

The benchmark closed at 1,748.06 on Friday, led lower by YTL Corp, Dialog Group and Axiata Group, while IOI Properties, TIME dotCom and Petronas Dagangan gained.
Regional markets were mostly weaker, with Indonesia down 2.9%, the Philippines off 1.2% and Singapore and Thailand each falling 0.4%, while South Korea edged up 0.1%.
The ringgit also weakened, with the US dollar rising 0.2% to 3.92 ringgit and the euro gaining 0.6% to 4.61, as broader Asia-Pacific equities were mixed.
