The deal with employee representatives covers about 10% of the workforce, including 1,300 roles in Burghausen, 200 in Nuenchritz, 60 in Munich and 50 elsewhere.
Wacker said the cuts will be made through voluntary measures, including phased early retirement, with no forced redundancies, under an efficiency programme launched in October 2025.
The programme targets €300 million in annual savings as European chemical companies face persistently high oil and gas-related costs.
