The 33-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was found on 6 May about 50 feet off the Mount Brown Fire Lookout trail in the Lake McDonald area.
Officials said his injuries were consistent with a bear attack and closed trails between Sperry and Lincoln Lake trailheads while wildlife experts and law enforcement assess bear activity.
If confirmed, it would be Glacier's first fatal bear attack since 1998; Pollio was last heard from on 3 May, and numerous agencies joined the search and recovery.
