Nippon Carbon Q1 net profit falls as revenue rises

The Japanese company posted net profit of Y481 million for the quarter ended 31 March, down from Y674 million, while revenue increased to Y8.86 billion from Y7.96 billion.
Operating profit fell to Y1.06 billion from Y1.29 billion, pretax profit dropped to Y832 million from Y1.21 billion, and earnings per share declined to Y43.58 from Y60.96.
The results were prepared under Japanese accounting standards, showing higher sales but weaker profitability in the first quarter of fiscal 2026.
