Shares closed at $214.87 on Thursday as the S&P 500 fell 0.38% to 7,337.11 and the Dow dropped 0.63% to 49,596.97.
The decline ended a two-day winning streak and left the stock 4.01% below its 52-week high of $223.85 reached on 29 April.
Against peers, Otis Worldwide rose 0.99%, while Mettler-Toledo slipped 0.58% and Ametek fell 2.75%, leaving IDEX with mixed relative performance.
