The five-day holiday ended Tuesday, with domestic trips up 3.6% year on year and total revenue reaching 185.5 billion yuan, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said.
Average spending slipped to 571 yuan from 574 yuan in 2025, while growth in revenue and traveller numbers was slower than during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Economists said the gains were driven by higher travel volumes, not prices, with per-capita spending still 10.7% below 2019 levels, underscoring weak demand and fragile consumer confidence.
