The China Manned Space Agency said the craft undocked on Wednesday after delivering about 6.5 tonnes of supplies since its July 15, 2025 launch.
It has entered independent flight and will soon make a controlled atmospheric re-entry, with most components burning up and a small amount of debris falling into designated safe waters.
Tianzhou-9 was the first cargo ship designed for launch within three months for emergency resupply, a capability intended to strengthen the Chinese space station's logistical resilience.
