In Manhattan, Judge Colleen McMahon permanently barred termination of more than $100m in National Endowment for the Humanities grants.
Her 143-page ruling said the cuts were a textbook case of viewpoint discrimination and rejected the administration's defence that ChatGPT had flagged projects for removal.
