Shares rose 4.69% to $406.78 on Thursday as the S&P 500 fell 0.38% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.63%.
The gain ended a two-day losing streak and outpaced Adobe, Paychex and Oracle, whose shares also advanced but by smaller amounts.
Even after Thursday's rise, Intuit closed 50.01% below its 52-week high of $813.70 reached on 30 July, while trading volume stayed below its 50-day average.
