Perplexity opens Personal Computer AI assistant to all Mac users

The tool, previously limited to the $200-a-month Max plan, is now available through Perplexity's macOS app, with usage still tied to Pro and Max credit limits.
Perplexity says the assistant can work across local files, Mac apps, the web and its own servers, using models including Gemini, ChatGPT and Nano Banana for different tasks.
The move expands a feature launched for subscribers last month as Perplexity tries to challenge rival AI agents and get ahead of Apple's delayed generative Siri.
