Troy Jackson urges Mainers to reclaim time at Democratic convention

Speaking to delegates in Portland on Saturday, the Democratic gubernatorial hopeful said powerful people had committed their “greatest robbery” by taking away families’ finite time.
Jackson argued long working hours leave Mainers unable to enjoy the state’s woods and waters or pursue dreams, and called for changes that let people spend more time with parents, children and loved ones.
The message echoes fellow Democrat Graham Platner’s call for a “new definition of freedom” centred on time, energy, dignity and fulfilment rather than lives dominated by anxiety, fear and scraping by.
