Google Chrome releases version 148 with Gemini Nano AI integration

The stable update lets websites access on-device AI through the Prompt API and adds Chrome for Android support for the Web Serial API.
Chrome 148 also introduces name-only container queries and lazy loading for video and audio, aiming to improve web development flexibility, page performance and data efficiency.
Google said the release includes numerous security bug fixes, while Chrome 149 is scheduled for 2 June 2026.
