Treasury named Ali Maarij Al-Bahadly and three senior figures from Kata’ib Sayyid Al-Shuhada and Asa’ib Ahl Al-Haq, accusing them of moving several million dollars of oil daily from Qayyarah.
Washington said Al-Bahadly helped blend Iranian crude with Iraqi oil and falsify paperwork so shipments could reach global markets as Iraqi exports.
The measures freeze any US assets and bar Americans from dealing with those targeted, amid wider US pressure on Tehran and after Iraqi claims that seized Iranian tankers used forged Iraqi documents.
