Asked Monday at Charlotte’s Government Center, the 73-year-old said, “We will see,” and has not attended a zoning meeting since November.
She has attended only two monthly zoning meetings since late 2024, increasingly handing them to other council members as private concerns grow over her communication and engagement.
Lyles still presides over most weekly council meetings in Charlotte’s manager-led system. Her fifth term runs until December 2027, after she won re-election in November with more than 70% of the vote.
