Fixed internet entry plans must fall to LE150 from LE210 and mobile data to LE5 from about LE13, with operators including Telecom Egypt, Orange, Vodafone and E& Egypt affected.
The regulator said government and educational websites will stay free on fixed and mobile networks even after users exhaust monthly data allowances.
NTRA said fixed internet consumption rose 36% in the past year, while exchange-rate swings, energy, labour, shipping and equipment costs have increased pressure for network investment.
