The analysis says VXUS holds nearly 8,800 non-US stocks across developed and emerging markets, charges a 0.05% expense ratio and has almost $600bn invested.
It highlights diversification benefits for portfolios concentrated in US shares and says international equities look cheaper, with average holdings trading at about 17 times earnings versus more than 25 for Vanguard's US total market ETF.
The fund tracks a broad weighted index and includes major names such as Taiwan Semiconductor, Samsung, AstraZeneca and Alibaba, while remaining relatively unconcentrated because only three holdings exceed 1% of assets.
