Strategic $350K Investment by Village Capital Targets Resilient Healthcare and Logistics Ventures in Ghana

Overview

In July 2025, Village Capital deployed $350,000 from the newly established Africa Ecosystem Catalysts Facility (AECF), backed by Dutch institutions FMO and RVO, to two Ghanaian startups: Rivia Clinics and VDL Fulfilment. This investment highlights AECF's focus on early-stage ventures that improve economic mobility and climate resilience by addressing essential needs in healthcare and logistics. Despite a sharp decline in African startup funding during 2023-2024, these sectors have shown resilience, making them attractive for durable investments. By partnering with local Entrepreneur Support Organizations, AECF ensures capital reaches impactful startups outside major hubs, supporting sustainable growth and signaling confidence in practical infrastructure solutions amid a challenging funding environment.
