Western Digital exchanges shares to offload more Sandisk stock

The company will give institutional investors about 1.87 million Western Digital shares for 653,203 Sandisk shares in a transaction due to settle on Thursday.
After settlement, Western Digital will still hold just over 1 million Sandisk shares and said it may dispose of them through further exchanges, debt swaps or shareholder dividends.
Since their February 2025 separation, both companies have benefited from AI-driven memory demand and tight supply, with Sandisk this week reaching a roughly $200 billion market value.
